Harry Boodah Biography...

Harry Boodah is a recording project created by Mark Taylor, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music technologist. Taylor has performed with numerous rock and jazz bands across Canada and the USA during the seventies and eighties. In the mid eighties he moved to working behind the scenes mainly in the studio in various roles while continuing to do some live performing and composing. In the nineties, Taylor returned to the experimentation of his early rock days, using magnetic tape echoes and computers to modify acoustic sounds. Available software in the early nineties was inadequate for his purposes, so Taylor developed several of his own software programs for his music creation. By the end of the decade Taylor was creating music based on his Electro Acoustic explorations.

Taylor has been producing music for the modern dance community for the last twelve years working most closely with Cori Caulfield: these compositions and arrangements have included solo works “Bone”, “Bought and $old”, and “West Coast Rain Box” for Caulfield‘s Coriograph Theatre, and an original score for Caulfield's molt (formerly fOXYMORONIC) a one-hour modern dance solo. He also recently completed a commission for dancer/choreographer Amber Funk Barton.

Taylor is currently working on several recording projects under the name Harry Boodah (http://www.harryboodah.com), which explore a fusion of music, Electro Acoustic and Spoken Word. He is working in the studio at the moment completing two CD projects.
